Driven by Purpose. Built on Compassion and Excellence.
Meet the leadership team behind Nova Z Health Services—combining decades of clinical expertise and operational dedication to empower individuals and support families.
Beda Gamboa, MSW, LCSW
FounderBeda Gamboa, MSW, LCSW is the clinical force behind Nova Z Health — a Columbia‑trained clinician, a military‑seasoned behavioral health expert, and a leader who has spent twenty years transforming how care is delivered across government, non‑profit, private, and military systems. Her work is rooted in a simple belief: families deserve care that is dignified, responsive, and grounded in real clinical excellence.
Her journey began in Los Angeles and carried her through some of the most demanding training environments in the country. At the U.S. Army Medical Department in Houston, the Maimonides Center for Sleep Disorders in New Mexico, and the Soldier Center in Clarksville, she treated complex combat trauma and high‑acuity behavioral health conditions with precision and compassion. These experiences shaped her into a clinician who can navigate crisis, build stability, and design care systems that actually work for the people who rely on them.
Beda is nationally certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Imagery Rehearsal Therapy, and multiple other evidence‑based practice models. She has trained hundreds of healthcare providers across the country, elevating trauma‑informed care and strengthening clinical standards in every system she touches. Her leadership includes championing early telehealth expansion at the Fort Irwin National Training Center and guiding telehealth implementation across Los Angeles County during the COVID‑19 pandemic — work that ensured continuity of care for thousands of families during one of the most uncertain periods in modern healthcare.
Her passion for Nova Z Health is not only professional — it is deeply personal. Her godchildren, Tristan and Ryder, were diagnosed as autistic and neurodivergent. Their journey opened her eyes to the gaps families face, the barriers that slow access to support, and the urgent need for care models that honor neurodiversity rather than pathologize it. Nova Z Health was built with them in mind, and with every child like them in heart. It is her promise that families will never feel alone, unseen, or unsupported in their search for quality care.
Beda earned her Master of Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work and her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and History from UC Santa Barbara. She is an alumna of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and a graduate of the Cedars‑Sinai Managing to Lead Program through the Healthforce Center at UC San Francisco, where she strengthened her executive leadership, change‑management, and healthcare innovation skills.
Today, she leads Nova Z Health with the same conviction that has guided her entire career — that care should be accessible, culturally responsive, clinically sound, and delivered with humanity. When she is not working, she enjoys Cuban coffee, traveling, soccer, and spending time with her love tribe, who remind her daily why this work matters.
Andrew Castor
FounderAndrew Castor co-founded Nova Z Health Services out of a deeply personal belief that quality care begins with stability, empathy, and absolute reliability. Having spent over two decades helping organizations support their people and navigate complex challenges, Andrew saw how much impact a steady, well-run environment can have on individuals facing major life transitions. He launched Nova Z to build a supported living service where residents and their families feel genuinely valued and cared for, backed by an organization that never cuts corners on quality or communication.
Andrew’s journey in leadership began at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned his degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting. Early in his career, he spent twelve years serving as a Human Resource Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves, a role centered on supporting team members, solving complex challenges, and helping people thrive in dynamic environments. He brought that same emphasis on communication and personal connection overseas, coaching teams for LG in South Korea to help diverse groups work together effectively.
His business background includes four years in public accounting—where he served as a licensed Certified Public Accountant from 2008 to 2015—along with a decade spent as a Senior Business Manager at Merrill Lynch, guiding a 35-person team. Throughout these roles, Andrew prioritized building clear, efficient systems, managing day-to-day operations seamlessly, and taking care of the people relying on his department.
At Nova Z Health Services, Andrew brings those years of organizational experience to the healthcare setting. He focuses on building a strong, dependable foundation behind the scenes so the care team can dedicate their full energy to enriching the daily lives of the members they serve
