Individually Designed Living Arrangements

At Nova Z Health Services, we believe community living thrives on great matches. An Individually Designed Living Arrangement (IDLA) empowers adults with developmental disabilities to live in private community homes alongside compatible peers while receiving customized Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS).

We work closely with families, individuals, and DDD Support Coordinators to match housemates based on shared routines, sensory preferences, and lifestyle goals.

Understanding IDLA Costs & Funding

Living in an Individually Designed Living Arrangement involves two separate components:

  • Care & Support Services (Covered by ALTCS/DDD or Private Pay): In-home support services—such as Habilitation, Attendant Care, and Respite—are billed directly through your authorized DDD/ALTCS service plan or funded privately.

  • Room & Board / Housing Costs (Private Resident Responsibility): Per federal and state regulations, Medicaid/ALTCS does not cover housing costs. Rent, utilities, food, and personal expenses are paid out-of-pocket by the resident or legal guardian, typically funded via SSI, SSDI, personal earnings, or family contributions through a private residential lease agreement with the property owner.

Upcoming Home Openings

We are currently in the process of sourcing and vetting quality single-family residences in the Greater Phoenix and East Valley areas for upcoming IDLA living opportunities.

Although we do not have active property vacancies listed today, we are actively building our roommate matching waitlist. Submitting an early inquiry allows us to consider your loved one's location preferences, support needs, and roommate preferences as new homes become available.
